Being able to complete a design on a site where the owner has a creative vision for something that looks a little different to the ‘standard’ car wash façade is always a buzz. When the owner said that he wanted a slimline roof structure that looked like a rolling wave and also adequate areas for signage underneath it gave my creative skills a clear vision. The result was a lovely flowing wave roof, where the sub-canopy façade truss curves in near opposite directions to form ample signage areas. The colour scheme from the roof structure flows through onto the concrete panels in paired shades of blue and off white. The Vacuum Bay structure complements the main Car Wash building with a slimline cantilevered wave roof.

The roof structures were carefully designed to minimise the number of gutters required, have adequate clearance heights for vehicles to pass under, and to offer patrons adequate shade. The overall site also had to accommodate a large 300 square meter Car Showroom with internal Office areas, Lunch Room, amenities and car parking. Traffic flows and car parking areas were carefully modelled to ensure that both the Car Wash and Car Showroom facilities could operate independently of each other during peak operating times. Needless to say that the owner is extremely pleased with the design and functionality of the overall site.

The site consists of:

  • 6 x Self-Serve Manual Wash Bays
  • 1 × Automatic Wash Bay
  • 6 × Vacuum Bays
  • 1 × Dog Wash
  • Office/Plant Room
  • Under cover Vending and Change Area
  • 2 x 21,500L underground Rain Water Tanks
