Lilydale, Victoria

How one Car Wash owner increased his turn over by 35%

The Lilydale Car Wash was originally constructed back in 1997. The façade and wash bays were showing obvious signs of ageing and had out-dated building colours and inadequate signage when compared with current designs. The original equipment was also in need of replacement and maintenance. Also the original poorly designed Vacuum Bay area prevented customers from fully opening their car doors and the absence of a roof canopy over this area was causing a noticeable drop in revenue during poor weather conditions.
TMC was commissioned to help solve the various problems and shortcomings whilst making an allowance for the installation of the new car washing equipment.

The site redesign and refurbishment works resulted in an increase in turnover by 35% since re-opening and the owners are thrilled. The car wash is now more visible from the main road due to the new signage and customers are delighted with the new facilities and equipment. The high standard of documentation produced by TMNC streamlined the construction process and minimised downtime which was important for customer retention.

The new refurbishment design incorporated:

  • Upgrading the building colour and façade,
  • New signage around the site including freestanding illuminated signs and façade signage,
  • Provisions for new Car Wash and sewer treatment equipment and installation of same,
  • Re-designing the Vacuum Bay area and providing new roof canopies,
  • New separate Vending and Change areas,
  • New Dual Dog Wash and seating area.
