Building on old Petrol Service Station sites can unearth many engineering foundation problems often due to the removal of large underground tanks and possible zones of contaminated and filled soil areas. That problem was minimized on this site due to the engineering knowledge that Tracey implemented at the beginning of the project during the initial concept design stage. Whilst the car wash design was still able to attain large Wash Bay sizes, lengthy queuing, passing and turning areas, and a spacious remote Office/Plant Room; the number and size of the footings in the soil “fill” areas were dramatically reduced which saved the client time during construction and many thousands of dollars in unnecessary concrete!
